Secondary Roads Department

The mission of the Buchanan County Department of Engineering and Secondary Roads is to provide and maintain the safest and highest quality network of roads and bridges possible with our resources.  

This department provides and maintains roads, road right-of-way, and bridges on all public roadways under the County’s jurisdiction. We also maintain section corner-tie information.

Buchanan County Engineer's office has recieved recognition for innovative solutions for today problems.  Including the Fontana Park Bridge, Rail Road Flatcar Bridges, Simplified Bridge Deck Overlays, Canvass Hoop Building for salt storage, and the use of Ultra High-Performance Concrete (UHPC).  The Buchanan County Engineer's office has recieved special recognition for the following projects:  The Fontana Park Bridge, Rail Road Flatcar Bridges, Numerous Concrete Paving Projects withing the county.
