Sex Offender Enforcement Notice
In July, 2002, the Iowa Legislature passed Iowa Code Section 692A.2A, a law restricting the residency of convicted sexual offenders to more than 2000 feet from public and private schools and registered child care facilities.
The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office has published town maps. The areas inside the circles are within 2,000 feet of a school or registered child care facility and are off limits to offenders. ( The code does make some exceptions) Questions, please contact the Sheriff's Office at 319-334-2568.
